throat all away

Friday, January 18th, 2008

so my throat’s had a tingle in it for a few days now, and today i woke up with little voice.  this is likely a result of being on campus for part of the past three days with temperatures around 34 and light rain.  i suppose it is winter!  i’ve determined i don’t like this season… overcast, grey, bleak.  there’s enough of that without crappy weather!  it hit kristin hard, too, and we’ve been trading off sniffles for a month now.  other friends are affected by cedar (actually, juniper!) which is really heavy in the air this time each year.  good thing winter is so short.

i have a presentation to give at a workshop in boston next week, so i really need to get this over with if i’m going to have a cold.  and it’s going to be worse in a hotel room by myself if it shakes down that way, so i’m almost willing to let myself get super-sick right now so i can have my body full of antigens (or is it antibodies?  do antigens create or “summon” antibodies?  ugh, how i want to know more biology).

luckily i can still have a voice and get things done — thatnks to the text-based nature of this work… is this a good thing?  or should i really just be resting completely?

hot caffeine free herbal tea, gourmet honey (is there such a thing?) from the black forest, and npr frame this moment.  soup to follow at lunch.
