2002: Transmissions from Omalo

Completed in 2002, Transmissions from Omalo represents howlingmime’s first forays into narrative soundscapes, music intended to drive a story along.

Transmissions from Omalo is a reimagining of Harlan Ellison’s XXX set to the music of Man…or Astroman?, Tortise, Portishead, and other bands known for their driving sounds.

This project was recorded on a cheap Toshiba Satellite 1625 laptop with something like 64MB of RAM and a cheap microphone.  It’s still fairly listenable.
